Dr Chan Pak Wo (Webber) is a Gastroenterologist practising at The Gastroenterology Group, in Orchard, Novena, Thomson and Joo Chiat.
Dr Chan has extensive expertise in managing a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, including gastroesophageal reflux disease, dyspepsia, irritable bowel syndrome, hepatitis (B and C), chronic liver disease, and inflammatory bowel diseases such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease. He is proficient in various diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy, and advanced techniques like balloon and spiral enteroscopy for small bowel disorders.
Dr Chan graduated from the University of Hong Kong and completed his general physician and advanced gastroenterology training at Singapore General Hospital (SGH). He holds membership with the Royal Colleges of Physicians in the UK and a specialty certificate in gastroenterology. He further honed his skills in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) through advanced fellowship training at Concord Repatriation General Hospital in Sydney.
Before transitioning to private practice, Dr Chan was a senior consultant gastroenterologist and the director of IBD services at SGH. He continues to serve as a visiting consultant at SGH, contributing his expertise to the public healthcare sector. His commitment to medical education is reflected in his academic roles at the National University of Singapore, Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, and as a former clinical assistant professor at Duke-NUS Medical School.
Dr Chan is also an accomplished researcher and educator, with numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and a book chapter to his name. He has been a frequent faculty member and speaker at medical conferences locally and regionally. His contributions to small bowel endoscopy and colorectal cancer screening have been recognised through several SGH and Singapore Health Service Quality Awards.
He is accredited to perform surgical procedures at Thomson Medical Centre, Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Mount Alvernia Hospital, and Gleneagles Hospital.
