Dr Frances Lim Sheau Huei

Dr Frances Lim Sheau Huei is a Colorectal Surgeon currently practising at Colorectal Clinic Associates Pte Ltd in Novena. With extensive experience in colorectal and general surgeries, she has a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer. Dr Lim is also adept at performing minimally invasive procedures.

Dr Lim received her medical degree from the University of Calgary, Canada. She completed her residency in general surgery at the State University of New York, USA, followed by a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at Washington Hospital Center, USA. Her advanced training has equipped her with comprehensive expertise in her field.

Previously, Dr Lim served as a Senior Consultant at the National Cancer Institute Singapore and within the division of colorectal surgery at the National University Health System (NUHS). She has over two decades of experience, during which she has held key roles such as Programme Director for the general surgery residency and the past Programme Director for the colorectal surgery fellowship programme at NUHS.

Dr Lim is a recognised speaker on various gastroenterological procedures and patient management topics, presenting at conferences including the Endoscopic Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. Her work is well-published in peer-reviewed journals, and she has contributed chapters to several medical textbooks.

Additionally, Dr Lim was awarded the A*STAR BEP Grant for developing a disposable, self-administered hemorrhoidal therapy device, where she served as the lead clinical co-principal investigator. This innovative device has received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration and is currently undergoing a patent application process worldwide.

Dr Lim is accredited to perform surgical procedures at Thomson Medical Centre, Farrer Park Hospital, and Gleneagles Hospital.
