Dr Khoo Chong Kiat

Dr Khoo Chong Kiat is a Senior Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. He operates his own private practice, CK KHOO Clinic for Women & Laparoscopy. Prior to this, he had served 20 years of public service, with the Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) Unit at KK Women’s & Children’s Hospital, Singapore. Recognised for his exceptional patient care, Dr Khoo received several Gold Service Stars awards during his 20-year tenure at KK Hospital.

Dr Khoo did his HMDP Fellowship in Endometriosis & Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) under the mentorship of renowned Professor Michel Canis in Clermont-Ferrand, France in 2010. He holds the European University Diploma of Gynaecologic Operative Endoscopy, awarded from CHU- Clermont Ferrand. Upon return, he helped to set up the KK Endometriosis Centre in 2011.

Dr Khoo has also often been invited as a teaching faculty and international speaker at various MIS conferences around the world, eg, APAGE, AAGL, ESGE, and ISGE over the years. His favourite topics include laparoscopic myomectomies, cystectomies, hysterectomies, contained in-bag fibroid morcellation, and ectopic pregnancies. He was involved in the teaching and training of KK MIS overseas fellows from Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Germany. Given his extensive Asia Pacific MIS networking links, he is currently serving as the Vice Secretary-General of APAGE.

As for his academic contributions, Dr Khoo was appointed Adjunct Assistant Professorships in all three of Singapore's medical schools: YLL-NUS School of Medicine, DUKE-NUS Medical School, and the newly established LKC-NTU School of Medicine. He was also the inaugural Core Faculty member of the SingHealth ACP O&G Residency Programme, training the future generations of O&G specialists. In 2016, Dr Khoo won a Macy scholarship as a clinician-educator at Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA.

As his contributions to local O&G professional bodies, Dr Khoo served previously as the Treasurer and Honorary Secretary of the College of O&G, Singapore. He was also the Section Head of Gynae-Endoscopy (2018-2020). He is currently a lifetime member in the O&G Society of Singapore. Dr Khoo is also a certified colposcopist with the Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology of Singapore.

Besides being an internationally renowned MIS gynaecologist, Dr Khoo was also one of the busiest obstetrician in the largest public hospital in Singapore before leaving for private practice.

Dr Khoo is accredited to perform surgical procedures at Thomson Medical Centre and Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital.
