Dr Lee Ser Yee is a General Surgeon at Surgical Associates, in Novena.
Dr Lee specialises in minimally invasive techniques such as laparoscopic and robotic surgery for treating liver, gallbladder, and pancreatic diseases and cancers. He offers advanced surgical care with a focus on precision and patient recovery.
Dr Lee began his medical education at the National University of Singapore in 1996 and completed his specialist training in General Surgery, HPB surgery, and Liver Transplantation at Singapore General Hospital (SGH) and the National Cancer Centre, Singapore. He furthered his expertise through fellowships at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center.
Before entering private practice, Dr Lee was a founding member and Senior Consultant at the Department of Hepatopancreatobiliary and Transplant Surgery at SGH. He also served as the Director of the Laparoscopic Programme and the Director of the Surgical Skills Training Programme at the SingHealth Surgical Skills Centre.
Dr Lee has held academic positions as an Associate Professor (Adj) at Duke-NUS Medical School and a Senior Clinical Lecturer at NUS. He has chaired numerous advanced surgical courses and frequently speaks at international conferences. He has authored over 200 scientific publications, contributed to leading journals such as Annals of Surgery, and written two surgical books and 70 book chapters. His research efforts, supported by over S$1 million in grants, have positioned him as a leading figure in his field. He also serves on the editorial and review boards of over 30 international medical journals.
Dr Lee is a founding member and current President of the Singapore HPB Association (HPBAS). He is actively involved in various professional committees, including the International HPB Association (IHPBA) Chapter of General Surgeons, the International Association of Surgeons, Gastroenterologists and Oncologists (IASGO), the Faculty of Surgery Trainers at the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh), the Singapore Robotic Surgery Society, and the International Laparoscopic Liver Society.
Dr Lee Ser Yee is accredited to perform surgical procedures at Thomson Medical Centre, Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, and Mount Alvernia Hospital.
