Dr Loh obtained his medical degree from the National University of Singapore in 1985, followed by his specialist qualification from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (London) in 1990. He further honed his skills in advanced laparoscopic surgery through a fellowship with Professor Maurice Bruhat’s team in Clermont-Ferrand, France, from 1994 to 1995. In recognition of his contributions to the field, Dr Loh was awarded Fellowship at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (London) in 2004.

Upon returning to Singapore in 1995, Dr Loh played a pivotal role in advancing gynaecological laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery. As an active teaching faculty member, he contributed significantly to symposiums and congresses on laparoscopic surgery and endometriosis in the Asia-Pacific. During his tenure at the National University of Singapore, Dr Loh headed the Gynaecological Minimal Access Surgery programme within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. His expertise in menopause management earned him the position of past president of the Menopause Research Society (Singapore).

Dr Loh's academic contributions include numerous publications in international journals and gynaecological textbooks, particularly on topics such as laparoscopic surgery, endometriosis, ovarian function, menopause management, and hormone replacement therapy.

In 2002, after 18 years of distinguished service at the National University of Singapore, Dr Loh established his private practice. His last held position at NUS was as an Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
