Dr Sanjay Nalachandran

Dr Sanjay Nalachandran is a General and Vascular Surgeon at the Vein & General Surgery Clinic at Orchard. He provides care for patients with general surgical conditions and vascular disorders, including varicose veins, spider veins, and other vein-related conditions.

His practice encompasses general surgery, vascular surgery, and endovascular procedures. Dr Sanjay performs traditional vascular surgical procedures, endovascular procedures such as stenting and angioplasty, and laser techniques for vein treatments (EVLT). He also conducts advanced laparoscopic surgery and emergency surgical procedures.

Dr Sanjay graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1997. He completed his basic surgical training in Ireland, obtaining membership of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh & Ireland (MRCS, AFRCSI) in 2000. He received his Master of Medicine in General Surgery from the National University of Singapore in 2002 and was conferred as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh and Fellow of the Academy of Medicine Singapore (FAMS) in 2005.

His professional experience includes serving as a Consultant in the General Surgical Department at Tan Tock Seng Hospital following his return from a one-year advanced vascular surgery training programme at Freeman Hospital, Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK, which he completed under a Singapore Ministry of Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) scholarship in 2005. Currently, he holds visiting consultant positions at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, and has admitting privileges at Mount Elizabeth Hospital and Parkway East Hospital.

Dr Sanjay contributes to medical education as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He is fluent in both English and Mandarin, enabling him to communicate effectively with a diverse patient population.

Dr Sanjay is accredited to perform surgical procedures at Thomson Medical Centre.
