Dr Serene Lim is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, and fertility and IVF specialist at SWC Serene Fertility & Women’s Clinic.

She specialises in a wide range of women’s health and fertility issues, such as menstrual abnormalities, menopausal symptoms, pelvic pain, fibroids, uterine polyps, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, hydrosalpinges or blocked tubes, and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). She is also skilled in gynaecological surgery, including hysteroscopy and laparoscopy or minimally invasive surgery. She provides care for each stage of pregnancy and is highly skilled at dealing with childbirth challenges.

Dr Lim sub-specialises in fertility and is a fully accredited specialist in assisted reproduction by the Ministry of Health (MOH). She provides consultation and clinical services for the full range of fertility issues and treatments, such as ovulation induction and ovulation monitoring, intra-uterine insemination or artificial insemination, in-vitro fertilisation (IVF), as well as fertility preservation including egg freezing.

Dr Lim underwent specialist training in obstetrics, gynaecology, reproductive medicine, and assisted reproduction at Singapore General Hospital (SGH) and KK Hospital. Her commitment to excellence was recognised with the prestigious Best Advanced Specialty Trainee (AST) Award in 2013, highlighting her as a top-performing specialist trainee. In 2019, Dr Lim was granted the Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) by the Singapore Ministry of Health, enabling her to pursue a one-year fellowship in Reproductive Medicine and Fertility Preservation at the renowned Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne.

Dr Lim’s commitment to advancing medical knowledge is evident in her role as a Clinical Tutor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Her contributions to postgraduate training programs and her appointment as Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Singhealth Duke-NUS Medical School underscore her dedication to nurturing the next generation of medical professionals.

Passionate about empowering her patients, Dr Lim believes in providing detailed counselling and meticulous explanations, ensuring individuals and couples are informed and actively involved in their medical care. Her outstanding contributions to the field have been recognized through awards such as the Excellent Service Award Silver in 2009 and the Service with a Heart Award in 2017.

As a mother of three herself, Dr Lim understands the profound joy of parenthood and strives to bring the joy of motherhood to every woman who desires to be pregnant. She is passionately committed to delivering the highest level of care to her pregnant patients. Dr Lim is an advocate for natural childbirth, including VBACs (Vaginal Births After Caesarean Section).
