Dr Somasundaram Subramaniam is an Otorhinolaryngologist (ENT Specialist) practising at Allergy & Sinus ENT Specialist Centre in Orchard and Joo Chiat. Dr Soma's medical journey began with his graduation with honours from the National University of Ireland in 2002. He then embarked on the National ENT Training Program in Singapore, gaining extensive experience over six years through rotations across all public hospitals in the country. His dedication to his field is evident in the array of postgraduate qualifications he holds, including MRCS (Glasgow), DOHNS (England), MMED (Singapore), and FRCS ORL (England).

In 2016, Dr Soma was awarded the prestigious HMDP Scholarship by Singapore’s Ministry of Health, enabling him to complete a Clinical Fellowship in Advanced Endoscopic Sinus Surgery and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery at Ohio State University, USA. There, he trained under Professor Ricardo Carrau, a world-renowned pioneer in advanced endoscopic surgical techniques, further honing his skills in treating complex ENT conditions.

Beyond his clinical expertise, Dr Soma is also a dedicated educator. From 2014 to 2020, he served as the Associate Program Director of the NUHS Otolaryngology Residency Program, playing a pivotal role in training and mentoring future ENT specialists. In 2019, he was appointed as the Undergraduate Director for ENT at NTFGH and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. His contributions to medical education have been recognised with several awards, including the "NUS Clinical Training Merit Award" in 2020, the "Clinical Training Excellence Award" in 2021, and the NUHS Teaching Excellence Award in 2022.

Dr Soma participates in continuing medical education as a faculty member at ENT conferences. He has delivered lectures at academic meetings in Singapore and abroad, sharing his clinical experience in ENT surgery and contributing to professional development within the specialty. He has also published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and contributed chapters to major textbooks. His commitment to excellence has earned him multiple service quality awards, including the Service Quality Award from SGH (Singhealth) and several accolades from NTFGH, where he was recognised as a Service Star and Service Ambassador, culminating in the prestigious CEO & CMB Award.
