Dr Vikram Sonawane is an Endocrinologist, currently practising at Harmony Thyroid, Endocrinology and Diabetes Centre in Orchard. He specialises in endocrinology with a focus on thyroid disorders, including the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid diseases and nodular thyroid disease. He is skilled in performing fine needle aspiration biopsies (FNAC) and managing hormonal imbalances and diabetes.

Dr Sonawane completed his undergraduate medical training (MBBS) and postgraduate Masters in Internal Medicine (MD Medicine) from the University of Mumbai, India. He further achieved fellowships MRCP and FRCP from the Royal College of Physicians, UK. His advanced specialty training in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism included a Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, USA, focusing on Clinical Thyroidology, Nodular Thyroid Disease, and Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsy of the thyroid.

Prior to joining private healthcare, he worked at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) as a Senior Consultant Endocrinologist, where he led the Thyroid Service and established the Thyroid & Fine Needle Aspiration and Cytology (FNAC) Clinic. Dr Sonawane performed around 125 to 150 FNAC procedures annually at KTPH.

Dr Sonawane has been recognised for his exemplary service and patient experience with multiple “Service Champion” awards from KTPH’s quality committee. His professional affiliations include membership in the Royal College of Physicians, UK, and the Endocrine Society. He was awarded the Ministry of Health’s HMDP sponsorship in 2015 and the Long Service Award from KTPH in 2020.

Dr Sonawane is accredited to perform surgical procedures at Thomson Medical Centre, Farrer Park Hospital, and Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre.
