Dr Suresh Nair is an obstetrician and gynaecologist. Aside from general obstetrics and gynecology, his areas of subspecialities are reproductive endocrinology, infertility and assisted reproductive techniques (eg: IVF, ICSI, IUI) minimal access endoscopic surgery, and advanced robot-assisted reproductive surgeries.
In 1991, Dr Nair obtained a training grant from the Singapore Government called the “Health Manpower Development Programme” (HMDP) where he spent two years training in endoscopic surgery from 1991 to 1993 in the United States, United Kingdom, France, and Germany. He completed the SGH Robotic-assisted Laparoscopic Surgery Training Course in October & November 2004 at the Singapore General Hospital. He also earned a Masters in Reproductive Medicine in 2009 from the University of New South Wales, Australia. He completed an intensive hands-on advanced robotic surgery course at the Orsi Academy, Cadaveric Surgery workshop in 2018 in Belgium and on the latest Da Vinci Xi surgical platform in a hands-on surgical training programme in January 2020 in Sydney, Australia.
Dr Nair was the past Medical Director for three fertility centres in Singapore: Parkway Fertility Centre, Mount Elizabeth Hospital (2008-2011), Pacific Fertility Institutes, Royal Square Novena (2018-2019) and Advanced Centre for Reproductive Medicine, Gleneagles Hospital (2020 – 2021).
In addition, he is presently the Chairman of the Reproductive Medicine Section, of the College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, Singapore, Board Member of Robotic Surgery Society of Singapore, and Honorary Treasurer of Asian Society of Gynecological Robotic Surgeons.
