Dr Tan Wah Siew

Dr Tan Wah Siew is a Colorectal Surgeon at Surgical Associates, in Orchard. She specialises in minimally invasive colorectal surgery, proctology, colorectal cancer, advanced rectal cancer requiring pelvic lymph node dissections and pelvic exenterations, and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

Dr Tan graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2003 and completed her Advanced Surgical Training in General and Colorectal Surgery at Singapore General Hospital (SGH) in 2011. She undertook a fellowship in robotic and laparoscopic colorectal surgery at St. James University Hospital in Leeds, UK, in 2013.

Prior to private practice, Dr Tan was a senior consultant surgeon at SGH. She was the first female consultant colorectal surgeon at SGH and one of the earliest female general surgeons in Singapore trained in robotic colorectal surgery. At SGH, she performed pioneering robotic surgeries, including lateral pelvic lymph node dissection and pelvic exenteration for advanced rectal cancer.

Dr Tan has performed over 500 major colorectal resection surgeries and has extensive experience in IBD surgeries. She is a member of the Society of Colorectal Surgeons, Singapore, and the Robotic Surgery Society of Singapore. Her dedication to patient care has earned her several awards, including the Service with a Heart Award in 2017 and the Singapore Health Quality Service Award (Silver) in 2020.

Dr Tan Wah Siew is accredited to perform surgical procedures at Thomson Medical Centre, Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, and Mount Alvernia Hospital.
