Dr Tang Siau-Wei is a Senior Consultant and Breast Surgeon at Solis Breast Care & Surgery Centre, in Orchard and Novena. With more than 15 years of experience, Dr Tang is dedicated to providing comprehensive and holistic care for her patients, with a particular focus on the care of benign and malignant breast conditions. Prior to joining private practice at Solis, she practised at the National University Hospital (NUH), where she developed her expertise in treating a wide range of breast conditions.

Dr Tang earned her BMedSci (Hons) and medical degree from the University of Nottingham, UK. She began her surgical training in the Trent Deanery, UK, before moving to Singapore, where she completed her advanced specialist training in General Surgery at NUH. She holds the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS Edin) in General Surgery. Dr Tang has further refined her skills in breast conservation and partial reconstruction by undergoing specialised training in South Korea and Japan.

Dr Tang's clinical and research interests lie in the subspecialty of breast surgery, with a focus on treating breast cancer and enhancing the quality of life for breast cancer survivors. She has published numerous clinical and research articles in peer-reviewed international journals. In 2015, she secured a research grant from the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS) Centre Seed Funding Programme to study the quality of life and body image in women with breast cancer in Singapore. Her research also extends to optimising breast cancer treatment for older women, taking into account their other chronic conditions.

Dr Tang is committed to the education and training of the next generation of medical professionals. She serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and has held roles such as Deputy Undergraduate Medical Director at NUS and Associate Programme Director for the National Postgraduate Year 1 (PGY1) Programme at NUH. Her contributions to teaching have been recognised with awards, including the NUHS Teaching Excellence Award in 2019 and the NUS Medicine Fortitude Award in 2020. Dr Tang has also received the Best Oral Presentation Award at the Asian Oncology Summit in 2012 and the Long Service Awards from NUH.

Dr Tang is also an advocate for breast cancer research, particularly in understanding the impact of the disease on the quality of life and body image of survivors. Her work includes contributions to research on topics such as breast cancer treatment, multispectral optoacoustic tomography in breast tumour margin assessment, and the evaluation of older women with primary operable breast cancer.

Dr Tang Siau-Wei is accredited to perform surgical procedures at Thomson Medical Centre, Gleneagles Hospital, Parkway East Hospital and Mount Elizabeth Hospital.
