Thomson Medical Centre Achieves Milestone with Complex Spine Surgery Performed by Dr. Huang Yilun

We are excited to announce a major milestone for Thomson Specialists at Thomson Medical Centre with the successful completion of our first Spine surgery. This two-level spinal decompression surgery, utilising advanced endoscopic techniques on a patient with significant scoliosis, demonstrates our team’s expertise in managing complex spinal conditions.

Performed by the esteemed Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. Huang Yilun, this procedure reflects his commitment to advancing spinal care. Dr. Huang’s proficiency in spinal pathologies, including degenerative and traumatic conditions, spinal disc replacement, and joint preservation, was instrumental in achieving this success.

Dr. Huang Yilun, a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Total Orthopaedic Care & Surgery and a visiting consultant at Thomson Specialists Woodleigh, brings a wealth of experience and innovation to our practice. His extensive training includes degrees and fellowships from prestigious institutions, including the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, and further specialisation in spinal disc replacement in France. His clinical excellence was recognised with the Singapore Quality Service Star award in 2023.

Before joining our team, Dr. Huang led the endoscopic spine surgery service at Sengkang General Hospital and continues to contribute significantly to medical education as a Clinical Tutor, adjunct lecturer, and faculty member for international platforms like the Endoscopic Spine Academy.
