Dr Benjamin Yip graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS). He was then conferred as a Member of the Royal College of Physicians, United Kingdom (UK). Thereafter, he completed his specialist training in General Medicine as well as his advanced specialist training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the National University Hospital, Singapore.

Dr Yip was awarded with the Health Manpower Development Plan award to sub-specialise in Advanced Endoscopy at the Royal Free and University College Hospitals in London, UK. During his tenure, he trained with several leading members of the Advanced Endoscopy community. He also received training in endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), Spyglass™ cholangioscopy, deep enteroscopy and enteral dilation/stenting. Prior to his private practice, Dr Yip served in the public sector for almost two decades. He was appointed as a Consultant at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) as well as Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH). In addition, he is currently a Visiting Consultant Gastroenterologist at NTFGH.

In recognition of his significant professional contributions to the field of Gastroenterology/Hepatology, Dr Yip was elected as a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore, as well as the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh, UK).

Dr Benjamin Yip’s most recent accolade was the prestigious fellowship designation awarded to him by the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE). As a well-experienced Liver specialist and Gastroenterologist in Singapore, he was recognised for his contributions not only in clinical endoscopy but in endoscopy-related leadership, education and research as well. He is one of the very few Gastroenterologists in Singapore to be awarded this fellowship.
