Dr Stephen Tsao Kin Kwok

Dr Stephen Tsao Kin Kwok is a Senior Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist, currently practising at AliveoMedical, with branches in Farrer Park, Orchard, Novena and Thomson. He has a sub-specialty interest in advanced diagnostic endoscopy and endoscopic resection.

Dr Tsao's clinical practice encompasses a comprehensive range of digestive and liver conditions, with particular emphasis on advanced endoscopic procedures and diagnostic techniques that enable precise treatment planning and execution. He has performed more than 500 advanced endoscopic resections located in the oesophagus, stomach, and colon.

Dr Tsao graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom, in 1996. He went on to obtain his Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in the United Kingdom in 2000. His dedication to continuous professional development led him to achieve a Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (FRCPEd) in 2013, and in 2021, he was awarded Fellowship of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (FAMS).

Prior to his current practice, Dr Tsao served as Senior Consultant in the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) and the Head of Gastroenterology at Woodlands Health. He also served as the Director of Endoscopy Service at TTSH from 2019 to 2022, where he was instrumental in maintaining high standards of endoscopic care.

His academic appointments include roles as Adjunct Associate Professor at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University, and Senior Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, reflecting his commitment to medical education and advancement.

Dr Tsao maintains an active presence in the medical community, currently serving as the President of the Gastroenterological Society of Singapore and Vice-Chairman of the Chapter of Gastroenterologists, Academy of Medicine, Singapore. His contributions to medical literature through publications in peer-reviewed academic journals and his continued role as a Visiting Consultant at TTSH demonstrate his ongoing commitment to advancing gastroenterological care. He is frequently invited as faculty at local and overseas conferences, where he shares his expertise both as a speaker and through demonstrations of advanced endoscopic procedures.

Dr Tsao is accredited to perform surgical procedures at Thomson Medical Centre.
