Dr Foo Gen Lin

Dr Foo Gen Lin is an Orthopaedic Surgeon at Apex Sports Clinic located at Novena and East Coast. He sub-specialises in sports injuries. Dr Foo brings his expertise in treating musculoskeletal conditions to provide care for patients. His approach to patient management integrates his medical knowledge with understanding of athletic needs, having experienced sports injuries himself.

Dr Foo's clinical practice encompasses sports injuries management, hip preservation surgery, trauma care, joint replacement, and the treatment of fragility fractures. He performs arthroscopic (keyhole) and minimally invasive procedures for the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, foot and ankle. His services include the treatment of knee ACL tears, shoulder dislocations, labral tears, femoro-acetabular impingement, and micro-instability conditions.

Dr Foo completed his medical training at the University of London in 2008, where he trained at Cambridge University and St. George's University. He pursued his specialist training in Orthopaedic Surgery in Singapore and was admitted as a Fellow to the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) in 2017. His credentials include MBBS (University of London) and MMed (Ortho), FRCSEd (Ortho).

His professional experience includes receiving the Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) fellowship to train in New Zealand under Dr Matthew Brick at Orthosports NZ, where he developed skills in minimally invasive hip surgeries. Since returning to Singapore, he has worked at Woodlands Health, Tan Tock Seng Hospital, and Singapore General Hospital. Currently, he serves as a Visiting Consultant to National University Hospital (NUH) and Woodlands Health (WH).

Dr Foo contributes to the development of hip arthroscopy services in Singapore and maintains involvement with neighbouring ASEAN countries in this field. He serves on the ISHA's (The Hip Preservation Society) Regional Societies Sub-committee and participates in ISAKOS (International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine), ASSA (ASEAN Orthopaedic Association), and SOA (Singapore Orthopaedic Association). Outside of his medical practice, he participates in endurance sports including triathlons and road races.
