Dr Jonah Kua is a Plastic Surgeon practising at Astrid Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in Orchard.

Dr Kua's specialities include reconstructive plastic surgery and aesthetic plastic surgery, with a strong focus on body contouring and breast surgery. He has also been a selected plastic surgeon for Motiva implants since 2017, demonstrating his commitment to staying at the forefront of aesthetic surgery innovations. His expertise encompass complex microsurgical reconstruction, eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty, breast surgery, and body contouring. Dr Kua is dedicated to customising surgical approaches for each patient, utilising innovative techniques that are both reliable and safe.

Dr Kua completed his medical education in Singapore under the Singapore Armed Forces scholarship. He pursued specialist training in plastic surgery at Singapore Health Services. Early in his career, Dr Kua was instrumental in establishing the Breast Reconstruction and Aesthetic Surgery services at Changi General Hospital (CGH). He served as the Head of Plastic Surgery Service at CGH from 2016 to 2020 and later became the National Programme Director for Plastic Surgery at Singapore General Hospital, overseeing nationwide plastic surgery training. Dr Kua's dedication to teaching has been recognised with the RiSE Awards for Most Outstanding Faculty in 2020 and 2021.

Dr Kua has undergone advanced fellowship training internationally. He received the AO Fellowship Award in Craniomaxillofacial Surgery in the UK in 2015 and the Health Manpower Development Programme Fellowship Award in Reconstructive and Aesthetic Breast Surgery from Samsung Hospital in Seoul in 2019. Additionally, he trained in post-bariatric body contouring at CER Hospital in Tijuana, Mexico.
Dr Kua is also recognised for his contributions to research, particularly in composite tissue transplantation and stem cell use in wound healing. He has published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and secured prestigious research grants, including the New Investigator Grant from the National Medical Research Council. His research achievements have earned him accolades, including the Outstanding Research Award in Transplantation Medicine at the SingHealth Annual Scientific Meeting in 2017.

Dr Kua is currently accredited to perform surgical procedures at Thomson Medical Centre and Mount Elizabeth Hospital.
