Her expertise encompasses a wide range of conditions, including benign colorectal issues such as haemorrhoids, anal fistula, fissures, inflammatory bowel disease, and symptoms like constipation, changes in bowel habits, and rectal bleeding. Dr. Toh performs screening colonoscopies and offers surgical treatments for colorectal cancer, including complex procedures such as pelvic exenteration. Additionally, she manages general surgical conditions such as appendicitis, abdominal hernias, and various soft tissue masses.

She earned her medical degree from the National University of Singapore in 2005 and completed her general surgical training at Singapore General Hospital. In 2013, she became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Dr Toh was awarded the SingHealth Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) scholarship, which enabled her to pursue advanced training in pelvic exenteration surgery for locally advanced pelvic tumours at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, Australia. This institution is renowned for its high volume and pioneering work in pelvic exenteration for advanced cancers. During her fellowship, she also received extensive training in advanced laparoscopic colorectal surgery, endoscopic techniques, and the management of benign colorectal conditions.

Upon returning from her fellowship, Dr. Toh joined Singapore General Hospital as a Consultant Surgeon in the Department of Colorectal Surgery. She played a pivotal role in establishing the SingHealth Pelvic Exenteration Unit, where she led a multidisciplinary team in managing complex pelvic tumours. Under her leadership, the unit has successfully conducted over 100 cases and has organized webinars to share their expertise with the surgical community.

Recognizing the importance of patient empowerment and emotional support, Dr. Toh collaborated with the National University of Singapore to develop a mobile application aimed at providing patients and caregivers with valuable knowledge and psychosocial support throughout the cancer diagnosis, treatment, and recovery process. Her dedication to patient care is reflected in the numerous service quality awards she has received.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Toh was actively involved in the mobile medical team deployed to dormitories during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic and has participated in global outreach projects, including those in Myanmar.
