Dr Chew Ping Soo is a colorectal surgeon at S P Chew Surgery Pte Ltd, in Novena. He specialises in the management of gall bladder, bile duct, liver, and pancreas conditions. His expertise extends to treating stomach, liver, pancreatic, bile duct, gall bladder, colon, and small bowel cancers. Dr Chew also offers minimally invasive or keyhole surgery for conditions such as gallstones, hernias, appendicitis, adrenal gland, and spleen removal.

Dr Chew obtained his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the National University of Singapore (NUS). He trained in general surgery and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK. Awarded a scholarship by the Singapore Government, he specialised in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, and liver transplantation at the Queensland Liver Transplant Service of the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, Australia.

In his previous role at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), Dr Chew developed the Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery Service and served as chief of the subspecialty service. He also held positions as deputy head of the Department of Surgery, chairman of the endoscopy committee and Endoscopy Centre, and was a founding member of the Centre for Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery.

Dr Chew started his private practice in 2008. He was formerly a senior consultant and deputy head of the Department of General Surgery, and chief of Hepato-Biliary & Pancreatic Surgery at TTSH.
