Dr Huang Yilun is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Total Orthopaedic Care & Surgery and a visiting consultant at Thomson Specialists Woodleigh.

Dr Huang specialises in spinal pathologies, including degenerative and traumatic spinal conditions, spinal disc replacement, and joint preservation surgery in the spine

Dr Huang graduated from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, in 2007. He then obtained his postgraduate Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (Glasgow) in 2011, his Master of Medicine (Orthopaedic Surgery) in 2013, and completed his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2018. Recently, he refined his surgical techniques in spinal disc replacement at the prestigious Hopital Prive Saint Martin in Bordeaux, France, under Dr. Remi Mariey. For his clinical work, he was awarded the Singapore Quality Service Star award in 2023.

Before transitioning to private practice, Dr Huang served as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Shoulder and Spine Service Lead at Sengkang General Hospital, where he established the endoscopic spine surgery service.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Huang is dedicated to medical education and mentoring future doctors. He has been a Clinical Tutor and Education Lead for LKC School of Medicine, an adjunct lecturer and tutor for YLL-NUS School of Medicine, and an Assistant Clinical Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School. He is also an AO Trauma instructor, an ATLS instructor, and a faculty member for the Endoscopic Spine Academy (Espinea), an international platform for endoscopic spine surgery education. He actively participates in weekly teaching sessions for medical students and has served as an examiner for the YLL-NUS Orthopaedic Examinations.

On the research front, Dr Huang has presented at multiple conferences both locally and internationally and has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals over the years.
