Dr Tang Hak Chiaw is a Consultant Cardiologist at Novena Heart Centre.

Dr Tang sees patients with various types of heart conditions. He specialises in the diagnosis and management of cardiomyopathies (heart muscle diseases), including hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, dilated cardiomyopathy and restrictive cardiomyopathy. His areas of clinical focus also include echocardiography, cardiac MRI, exercise-related heart changes, and cardiac complications associated with cancer treatment. He offers consultations for patients requiring assessment and treatment of these cardiovascular conditions.

Dr Tang received his medical degree from Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. His postgraduate training included specialist cardiology training at the National Heart Centre Singapore, and he furthered his training in cardiomyopathy and cardiac MRI at The Heart Hospital, University College London Hospitals, UK in 2010.

Prior to his current position, Dr Tang was a cardiologist at the National Heart Centre Singapore, where he established a dedicated cardiomyopathy clinic in 2011. His clinical experience spans more than 20 years, during which he has contributed to cardiovascular medicine through patient care and clinical initiatives.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Tang has held academic appointments as a Clinical Assistant Professor and served as the course director for Singapore's first cardiomyopathy conference in 2021. He currently serves as a member of the Singapore Armed Forces' cardiology specialist advisory board. Dr Tang is an advocate for preventive medicine, he engages in regular physical activities, including running and resistance training.
